today's world we are very suspicious about anyone making the claim of
being a prophet. Jesus never said that in the last days all prophets
were false ones. He said to beware of the false prophets. We have Nostrodamus, Joseph Smith, Mary Eddy Baker,
Ellen White, Hal Lindsey and many others. But we want to stay with the
main ones. Ellen White herself never ever claimed to be a prophet
or prophetess, but the Lord's messenger. Comparing all the many prophets
of the Bible, one thing stands out, they were send to warn us from God
before He would dish out some punishment and how to escape it. And none
does it better than Ellen White in her book the "Great Controversy,
written in 1888."
The Seven Last Plagues
The seven last plagues are soon to be poured out on this evil world, and
who was the first to warn us? Ellen White of course. Others in her time
like Joseph Smith, the prophet of the Mormons, did not warn us of the
coming doom nor correcting any evils in the churches of Christendom.
Ellen G. White [nee Harmon] was shown lots of future prophecy in the mid
1800's which have come and are coming to pass when read properly and not
misread like scores of her opponents do. Warning people of the Devils
devices is what the Demons hate most and therefore thousands of anti
Ellen White website testify to this.
Hal has prophesied the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem and set
three times dates for it and they all failed. Fallen Protestants are so
armoured with Hal Lindsey, that they refuse to call him a false prophet.
His book, the great planet earth, was an all time best seller. Why?
Because his prophecy suited the fancy of most Christians. In comparison
to Ellen G. White, her prophecies all come true and she is despised by
them. Hal Lindsey's prophecies originated from the Roman Catholic
It can be seen that John Darby copied the Jesuit doctrine of
'Futurism' and the future antichrist and built on it. Than it was put as
footnotes into the Scoefield reference Bible and exported to America
being used by all colleges and seminaries. All original Protestant
prophecies were discarded by the Protestant churches except by the
Seventh-day Adventist church.
Comparing prophet Daniel with
When in vision, the prophet Daniel would not breath! [Daniel 10:17].
Mrs. Ellen White was the only modern prophet to pass this same test as
the prophet Daniel. Medical Doctors were invited and held a mirror in
front of her mouth while she was in vision which could last for hours.
This alone to me is a test of a true prophet. All others have
refused the test.
Test and lies!
Besides no breathing while in vision, the true test for a prophet is
that all that she or he prophesied must come true. Not like Jean Dixon
or Nostrodamus, or any other prophet, who only have a percentage come
true. An example of the many lies of Ellen White opponents is seen in
reporting on a vision where the angel told her that if she would remain
faithful, she 'along' with the 144 000 would be allowed to
visit other planets [Early Writings p.40].
Her myriads of opponents claim that she said she would be part of the 144
000. Can you see how they twist and lie. They cannot possibly be true
Christians. This is only a small sample of the misquoting they do.
At one time, Mrs. White send her manuscript to the publisher and the
publisher omitted a 'comma' and the word 'and' which made the sentence
read wrong. it was corrected in the second edition. But the opposition
picked it up and ran with it and they are still running with it today
telling the world that Ellen White is a false prophet.
The sentence was this: "This system was corrupted before the flood, and
by those who separated themselves from the faithful followers of God,
and engaged in the building of the tower of Babel."---Spiritual gifts,
Vol. 3, p.301. Leaving the comma and the word and out, makes the
language place the building of the tower of Babel, before the flood. Now
every child brought up in a Christian home will tell you otherwise.
At another time, she wrote that 'if' England would enter the civil war
in America! The opposition disregarded the word 'if' and falsify her
meaning saying that Mrs. White falsely predicted England was entering
the war. I ask you, how evil is evil?
Erring is human!
All her visions do not contain errors when seen as a whole. But
her own comments may have errors because she is human. Her secretary
sometimes would change a comment she saw fit to change. When found out,
she was relieved of the employment.
Dr. Graeme Bradford wrote a small book called "Prophets are Human." But
the best book on Ellen White was written by Herbert E. Douglas called
"The Messenger of the Lord." subtitled: "The Prophetic Ministry of Ellen
Sister White like a pope? Saint
Surely these misguided comparisons cannot be accorded serious status.
The pope claims the power to overrule Scriptural imperatives such as the
Law of God. Sister White never arrogated such authority to herself nor
has any Seventh day Adventist we have met ever accorded her such
blasphemous authority. The name Saint Ellen possesses overtones of of
Saint Mary who was accorded freedom from sin throughout her entire life
by the Papal Dogma of the Immaculate Conception proclaimed by Pope Pius
IX, December 8, 1854. All agree that Ellen White, like all past
prophets, was a sinner in need of the grace of her Savior whom she loved
"Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and
wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and
some of them ye shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them
from city to city." ---Matthew 23:34.
Phillip had for daughters that were prophetesses in the New Testament,
but none suffered so much persecution even long after her death than
Ellen G. White.
Ellen and salvation!
In her book Patriarch and prophets, there is chapter four, she describes
the plan of salvation/redemption. Among other things she wrote, "Since
the divine Law is as sacred as God Himself, only one equal with God
could make atonement for its transgression. None but Christ could redeem
fallen man from the curse of the law and bring him again into harmony
with Heaven."........."But an angel's life could not pay the debt; only
He who created man had power to redeem him. Yet the angels were to have
a part to act in the plan of redemption."---Hebrews 1:14;2:9
America in prophecy!
God's law made void in
"It is time for Thee, Lord, to work: for
they have made void Thy law."---Psalms 119:126
"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He
revealeth His secrets unto His servants the prophets."---Amos 3:7
"And He gave some apostles; and
some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers."---Ephesians
A time is coming [written in 1893 ST June 12]
when the law of God is, in a special sense, to be made void in our land
[United States of America]. The rulers of our nation will, by
legislative enactments, enforce the Sunday law, and thus God's people
will be brought into great peril. When our nation, in its legislative
councils, shall enact laws to bind the consciences of men in regard to
their religious privileges, enforcing Sunday observance, and bringing
oppressive power to bear against those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath,
the law of God will, to all intents and purposes, be made void in our
When the land which the
Lord provided as an asylum for His people, that they might worship Him
according to the dictates of their own consciences, the land over which
for long years the shield of Omnipotence has been spread, the land which
God has favoured by making it the depository of the pure religion of
Christ--when that land shall, through its legislators, abjure the
principles of Protestantism, and give countenance to Romish apostasy in
tampering with God's law--it is then that the final work of the man of
sin will be revealed. Protestants will throw their whole influence and
strength on the side of the Papacy; by a national act enforcing the
false Sabbath, they will give life and vigour to the corrupt faith of
Rome, reviving her tyranny and oppression of conscience. Then it will be
time for God to work in mighty power for the vindication of His truth.
The prophet says: "I
saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the
earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong
voice, saying Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen . . . . And I heard
another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye
be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her
iniquities." When do her sins reach unto heaven? When the law of God is
finally made void by legislation. Then the extremity of God's people is
His opportunity to show who is the governor of heaven and earth. As a
Satanic power is stirring up the elements from beneath, God will send
light and power to His people, that the message of truth may be
proclaimed to all the world."
Note: The shield over America has already been taken away seeing by all
the natural and economic disasters. America started lamb like in
appearance, but would speak like the Dragon [Revelation 13] How does the
dragon or devil speak? deceptively and lies. United Nations told
the U.S. Government that the weapon inspectors found no evidence in Iraq
of weapons of mass destructions. The US took no notice and invaded Iraq
anyway. To find weapons or oil?
American politicians are now talking about economic Armageddon and
economic meltdown. When will the ruin in America occur according to our
modern day prophet? Not until the Sunday law has been passed!
And who is fallen Babylon? Dave Hunt's recent book called "A Woman Rides
the Beast" and we have Hislop on the "Two Babylons" showing us clearly
that the great Harlot of Revelation 17 is also that great city, namely,
Vatican city, Babylon the great. But has the mother whore no daughters
that practice illicit trade with politics? Protestants without the
protest against the fallen mother must therefore also be fallen. John
Darby took "Futurism" straight from the Jesuit priests and added his
dispensationalism with its aim of destroying the holy law of God.
Futurism was designed by Roman Catholics to redirect the finger
Protestants pointed to Papal Rome away into the distant future, hence
Futurism. The doctors of Rome split up the complete prophecy of Daniel
9:24-27 and inserted more than 2000 years into it to reach to our day.
The earthly temple suppose to be rebuilt, which makes Christians look
down instead up into the heavenly sanctuary where the Ten Commandments
are in the Most Holy Place [MHP] and Jesus is our great and high Priest
interceding and ministering in our behalf.
The Roman church fell
through worldliness. Accepting the state religion of Mithra, she mixed
paganism with Christianity which in turn made it acceptable to the
Emperor who saw it as an advantage to keep the Roman Empire together.
Protestantism fell by not only stopping all Protest against the fallen
Roman church refusing reform, but denying the protestant teachings and
going back to Rome with apologies and accepting the counter-Reformation
teachings of that church.
Rome had the sunburst also known as the sun monstrance as its highest
object of worship after Mother Mary. Then the halo and the wafer is in
the shape of the sun disk. Sunday topped it all off. The day of the sun is very
popular with the world, while the real Sabbath [Saturday] is more than
Babylon is said to be full the names of blasphemy [Revelation 17:3].
Besides claiming to be God by His triple crown [tiara] and the power to
forgive sins, to change God's laws, claiming God's name "Holy Father",
"the insignia of the papal arms is of equal power with the cross of
Christ."---#79 of the 95 Thesis of Dr. Martin Luther. The
blasphemous Mass is a perversion of the Lord's supper.
Sister White inspired?
Like the prophet of the Bible, Ellen White received the gift of
revelation [divine disclosure] and inspiration [divine assistance in
communicating the message received ]. Remember how Paul puts
responsibility on the community of believers when he says, "Do not treat
prophecies with contempt. test everything."--1. Thessalonians 5:20,21.
Ellen White and the spirit of
Her spirit of prophecy books in relation to the Bible can best be
described as a telescope. We note that a telescope does not create more
stars; it simply enables us to see more clearly the ones that are
already there. She does not give new light. Clouds may intervene -
clouds of unbelief, of contention. Satan may blow tempest all about it;
it may be blurred by the breath of our own selfishness.
Comparing Ellen White's
"The following summer my parents went to the Methodist camp Meeting
of Buxton, Maine, taking me with them. I was fully resolved to seek the
Lord in earnest there, and obtain, if possible the pardon of my sins.
There was a great longing in my heart for the Christian's hope and the
peace that comes of believing.
I was encouraged while listening to a discourse from the words, "I will
go to into the King,.......and if I perish, I perish.---Ester 4:16. In
his remarks, the speaker referred to those who were wavering between
hope and fear, longing to be saved from their sins and receive the
pardoning love of Christ, yet held in doubt and bondage by timidity and
fear of failure. He counselled such ones to surrender themselves to God,
and venture upon His mercy without delay. They would find a gracious
Saviour ready to present to them the sceptre of mercy, even as Ahasuerus
offered to Esther the signal of his favour. All that was required of the
sinner, trembling in the presence of God, was to put forth the hand of
faith and touch the scepter of His Grace. That touch ensured pardon and
Those who were waiting to make themselves more worthy of divine favour
before they ventured to claim the promise of God, , were making a fatal
mistake. Jesus alone cleanses from sin; He only can forgive our
transgressions. He has pledged Himself to listen to the petitions and
grant the prayers of those who come to Him in faith.
Many have a vague idea that they must make some wonderful effort in
order to gain the favour of God. But all self dependence is vain. It is
only by connecting with Jesus through faith that the sinner becomes a
hopeful, believing child of God. These words comforted me, and gave me a
view of what I must do to be saved. I now began to se my way more
clearly, and the darkness began to pass away. I earnestly sought the
pardon of my sins, and strove to give myself entirely to the Lord. But
my mind was often in great distress, because I did not experience the
spiritual ecstasy that I considered would be the evidence of my
acceptance with God, and I dared not believe myself converted without
How much I needed instructions concerning the simplicity of faith!
The burden lifted
While bowed at the altar with others who were seeking the Lord, all
the language of my heart was: "Help, Jesus; save me, or I perish! I will
never cease to entreat till my prayer is heard and my sins forgiven." I
felt my needy, helpless condition as never before. As I knelt and
prayed, suddenly my burden left me, and my heart was light. At first a
feeling of alarm came over me, and I tried to resume my load of
distress. It seemed to me that I had no right to feel joyous and happy.
But Jesus seemed very near to me; I felt able to come to Him with all my
grief's, misfortunes, and trials, even as the needy ones came to Him for
relief when He was upon earth. There was a surety in my heart that He
understood my perculiar trials, and sympathized with me. I can never
forget this precious assurance of the pitying tenderness of Jesus toward
one so unworthy of His notice. I learned more of the divine character of
Christ in that short period, when bowed among the praying ones, than
One of the mothers of Israel came to me and said, "Dear child, have you
found Jesus?" I was about to answer "yes" when she exclaimed, "Indeed
you have; His peace is with you, I see it in your face!"
Again and again I said to myself: "Can this be religion? Am I not
mistaken?" It seemed too much for me to claim, to exalted a privilege.
Though too timid to confess it openly, I felt that the Saviour had
blessed me and pardoned my sins.
In Newness of Life comparing it to the old life
Soon after this Camp Meeting closed, and we started for home. My
mind was full of the sermons, exhortations, and prayers we had heard.
Everything in nature seemed changed. During the meeting, clouds and rain
had prevailed a greater part of the time, and my feelings had been in
harmony with the weather. Now the sun shone bright and clear, and
flooded the earth with light and warmth. The trees and grass were a
fresher green, the sky a deeper blue. The earth seemed to smile under
the peace of God. So the rays of the Sun of righteousness had penetrated
the clouds and darkness of my mind, and dispelled its gloom.
It seemed to me that everyone must be of peace with God and animated by
His Spirit. Everything that my eyes rested upon seemed to have undergone
a change. The trees seemed more beautiful, and the bird sang more
sweetly than ever before, they seemed to be praising their Creator in
their songs. I did not care to talk, for fear this happiness might pass
away, and I should loose the precious evidence of Jesus love for me. My
life opened in a different light. The afflictions that had darkened my
childhood seemed to have been dealt me in mercy, for my good, to turn my
heart away from the world and its unsatisfying pleasures, and incline it
toward the enduring attractions of heaven.
Uniting with the Methodist church
Soon after our return from the camp meeting, I, with sveral others,
was taken into the church on probation. My mind was very much exercised
on the subject of baptism. Young as I was, I could see but one mode of
baptism authorized by the Scriptures, and that was immersion. Some of my
Methodist sisters tried in vain to convince me that sprinkling was Bible
baptism. The Methodist minister consented to immerse the candidates if
they conscientiously preferred that method, although he intimated that
sprinkling would be equally acceptable to God.
Finally, the time was opened to us to receive this solemn ordinance. it
was a windy day when we, twelve in number, went down into the sea to be
baptized. The waves ran high and dashed upon the shore, but as I took up
this heavy cross, my peace was like a river. When I arose from the
water, my strength was nearly gone, for the power of the Lord rested
upon me. I felt that henceforth I was not of this world, but had risen
from the watery grave into newness of life.---Life Scetches p.22, 1915
